Cops and Kids Backpacks is a special community-related event sponsored by the FOP to supply backpacks for children who do not have them or a child who needs a damaged backpack replaced.
Members of The Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 88 donated 500 backpacks for students of JCPS recently. School counselors, school social workers, student advocates, school nurses, assistant principals, and some central office staff, along with Lodge 88 members from the highway patrol, local police departments and the sheriff’s office, assisted with filling the backpacks with hygiene products.
Since 2005, Lodge 88 has supported JCPS students this way. Traditionally, the backpacks are distributed at the beginning of the fall school year, however, supply chain issues delayed the event last year. With spring break nearing, Lodge 88 felt there was time like the present!
FOP Lodge 88 wants to thank all the volunteers who donated their time and energy to this effort. We also thank all who donate monetarily to our fundraisers; in doing so, your support is extended through us to our community.
